This Ironman Movie Review Is Worth Watching from Spill.com

June 27th, 2008

Ironman Movie Review from Spill.comI’m a major Marvel fan and one of my favorites is of course Iron Man.  When May had finally got here and I got to see the Ironman movie I was estatic over what an amazing job Jon Favreau and really the whole cast of actors and actresses including, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard and Jeff Bridges did.  After reading many many blogs and reviews of the Iron Man movie it is of overwhelming opinion that the Ironman Movie ruled! Well, on another search for another favorite of mine, the Incredible Hulk I found the review and I thought it was awesome.  Well, after that I checked out their Iron Man Movie review and loved that too.  For the first time I feel a review is good enough yet fun enough to share with the rest of you who have never heard of these guys either.  (In my defense this isn’t an ad and I’ve never met these guys…just an innocent bystander here).

The review of the Ironman movie comes from the guys at spill.com.  I had never heard of them before or had visited their site but I plan on being a regular.  Their sense of humor is on par with mine and just by the few films I looked at that they reviewed they seemed to share my opinion on them too.  There are spoilers in this review of the Iron Man movie and a little heads up that even though this is a little cartoony it is not suitable for kids.  Profanity is bleeped out but there are adult qualities of the review you probably want to avoid talking about with your children afterwards.  If you’re like me you don’t want your little tikes asking you, “Daddy…Mommy…what does &#@!! mean?”  Meet Korey, Cyrus, Carlyle, Leon and Co-Host 3000.  I also put up one for the Incredible Hulk movie review as well so if you want to check that one out after you check out this Ironman Movie review click here.

Iron Man Movie Topic: Tony Stark’s Cameo in the Incredible Hulk

June 18th, 2008

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man Tony Stark from the Ironman Movie Makes a Cameo in the Incredible HulkFresh from the Ironman movie, Robert Downey Jr. made a cameo appearance in the Incredible Hulk Movie that came out recently which finally makes a solid non-rumor kind of connection between the Incredible Hulk movie and Iron Man movie.  PRESTO we now can firmly count on an Avengers movie being a joint venture across the world of Marvel.  For those of you who just got back from Mars, Robert Downey Jr. plays Tony Stark aka Iron Man in the Ironman movie and will continue in the Iron Man 2 movie in April, 2010.

Although I was grinning from ear-to-ear thinking back how much I liked the Iron Man movie I couldn’t help but be a little disappointed that an “unknown soldier” wasn’t in the foreground at Tony Stark’s side.  This quiet unassuming blue-eyed figure could have simply been baptized by General Thaddeus Ross with a little, “Good seeing you, Cap’”.   Nerds everywhere would have jumped into their seats, pointing to the screen gaily hopping, “That’s Captain America!”

By the way, here’s a toast to the Comic Book Movie site guys for sending out the old, “Missing Captain America Hulk Cameo” footage.  I totally fell for it.  I had a good laugh and it reminded me that a Captain America movie is as much as a risk in the archive of cheesy hilarious crapola as it is in the realistic possibility of rocking our socks off.

As far as more cameos in the future like in the Ironman Movie and Incredible Hulk I welcome them with open arms.  The idea of Marvel being organized enough to intertwine characters and movies shows fan loyalty and a serious commitment to making us buzz with excitement.  I can hardly wait to see what Marvel has in store for us in Jon Favreau’s, Iron Man 2 movie.  Hmmmm I wonder if much like Lord of the Rings fans if many of us Ironman movie fans will be walking around fitted in Iron Man armor toting our hot sexy “Pepper Potts” (girls love an excuse to dress sexy).  Don’t even get me started on the anticipation behind nerd-o-rama heaven and the limitless possibilities for the debut of the Avengers movie.   Nerds…we’ve finally taken over the world!

About the Ironman Movie

The Iron Man Movie is based on a Marvel Comics character Tony Stark who is more widely known as Iron Man. The Ironman Movie is directed by Jon Favreau to be released in May of 2008. Tony Stark aka Iron Man is played by Robert Downey Jr. Robert Downey Jr. has been accepted by Ironman movie fans everywhere as was reflected in one of the Iron Man movie polls I took on this website. In the Iron Man Movie after Tony Stark, the billionaire weapons technology manufacturer and playboy, is captured by Terrorists in Afghanistan Tony Stark is ordered to build a missle. During Tony Stark’s capture in the Ironman Movie shrapnel lodges near his heart and Tony must seemingly cooperate with the terrorists or die. Stark instead, using his super intelligence and cunning, instead builds a pacemaker-type of apparatus and the Mark I armor around it which is the clunky looking Iron Man armor that you see first appear in one of the first Ironman Movie trailer. After Tony Stark’s escape using the Mark I armour he sees his life developing a purpose and sets out on a mission “…to protect the people I’ve put into harm’s way.” In the Iron Man Movie Tony Stark later develops his “hot rod red” highly advanced Mark III armor. Robert Downey Jr. is perfect for his role as Tony Stark in the Ironman Movie because like Tony Stark he has struggled with personal problems of his own. Though most actors do not take roles in comic book hero movies seriously Robert Downey Jr. has stood out as an exception weight training and practicing martial arts and truly commiting to the role as Iron Man in the upcoming Iron Man movie. The Iron Man movie also stars Gwyneth Paltrow as the secretary and subtle love interest, Virginia Pepper Potts. Also in the Ironman movie is Tony Stark's good friend James Rhodes ( later to assume the role as hero, War Machine) who is played by Terrence Howard. Lieutenant Colonel James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes naturally becomes a good friend of Tony Stark who saved the stranded pilot after Rhodes crashes in enemy territory. James Rhodes serves as Tony Stark's moral conscience to a degree in the Iron Man movie disapproving of Stark’s lifestyle. The villain of the Ironman movie is Obadiah Stane played by Jeff Bridges who later assumes the role as Iron Monger. Other actors in the Iron Man Movie include Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Gerard Sanders as Howard Stark (Tony Stark’s Father), Shaun Toub as Yin Sen who is imprisoned with Tony Stark by the terrorists and later sacrifices his life so that Tony Stark can survive and Leslie Bibb as the tough and sassy reporter you see in the 1st Ironman movie trailer interviewing Tony Stark as the "Merchant of Death." Iron Man movie cameoes will be done by Stan Lee, Ghostface Killah, Jon Favreau and Hilary Swank. Marvel Studios reacquired the rights to the Iron Man Movie in 2006 after New Line Cinema had it’s opportunity to make the Ironman Movie for 4 years. Before New Line Cinema 20th Century Fox had a chance to make the Iron Man Movie and before that it was Universal Studios in 1990. Not very well known at the time as a director, Jon Favreau (also an actor in such films as Very Bad Things and Swingers) was signed on to direct the Ironman Movie. Later Jon Favreau would shoot the Iron Man Movie in California no doubtedly a wise choice that sets the mood for Tony Stark's character, a very laid back wealthy playboy who never took himself very seriously if that sounds like your personality you just may be a Californian. A very important decision to make for the Ironman Movie was on what direction to head with the look and operation of the many interpretations of Iron Man armors since it was conceived. The decision was made to go with the Iron Man Armor style of Adi Granov for the Iron Man Movie based on the work he did on his artistic and visionary interpretation of the Ironman Armour for the comic. The marketing budget for the Ironman Movie is enormous as Paramount Pictures in partnership with Marvel have at least a $50 million dollar budget to work with. It's obvious the Iron Man movie will be a huge success based on the Ironman movie photo gallery of incredible special effects and talent and acting on faith Jon Favreau has already planned on Ironman movie to be the first of three signing all the key actors needed. Like the Potter films the Iron Man Movies will gradually grow darker in tone and develop its truly rich and very human story as Tony Stark’s alcoholism comes into play. Exciting to Marvel fans and Ironman Movie fans everywhere was the recent discovery that the Iron Man Movie will crossover with the Incredible Hulk movie. Incredible Hulk movie fans can be excited that some Incredible Hulk elements will also be seen in the Ironman Movie. There have also been rumors floating around that all of the interlinking between summer ’08 and later Marvel character based films will lead up to a climax release of the Avengers Movie.
