Update For Iron Man Digital Comics Online - January 14th, 2008
“Hello McFly! Anyone home, McFly?”
This is my second update and I have to say I’m a little disappointed at Marvel for not pumping out more digital comics for Iron Man than they have. Hello? Don’t we have an Iron Man movie coming out in less than 4 months! Don’t underestimate the movie’s 50-million dollar marketing budget and overestimate the average person’s knowledge of Iron Man. Many will see the ads and want to learn more about who Iron Man is and a quick way to get their fix will be online. There have been only 3 updates for Iron Man:
NEW! Iron Man (2004 - Present)
NEW! Iron Man Hypervelocity #1
The list below is from the December update. I’ll keep you posted as they add more to the list. This list doesn’t include the many Avengers comics available or cameos by Iron Man. Just the Iron Man comics for now:
Invicible Iron Man 1968-1996 #1, #120, #225 and #226
Ivincible Iron Man 1996-2004 #1-10, #12
Iron Man and Sub-Mariner 1968 #1
Iron Man 2004 - Present #1-4
Iron Man House of M #1-3
Iron Man Captain America - Casualties of War
Iron Man Inevitable #1-6
Check back once a month for your Iron Man digital comics updates!
Some news for my UK readers. A company out of the UK, Character World Limited has been granted licenses from Marvel and Lucas Film for bedroom this-and-thats for the Indiana Jones sequal, The Incredible Hulk, the animated made-for-tv, “Star Wars: Clone Wars.” as well as the much anticipated Iron Man movie directed by Jon Favreau and due to be released on May 2, 2008. According to the online magazine, “Global License!” the license will cover a range of bedroom products such as bedroom textiles (single- and double-duvet covers), blinds, fleece blankets, bean bags and ponchos.
Marvel has already released part 2 of the Iron Man short movie with Spider-Man and it’s only been a little over a week. Kids everywhere will love this. I showed it to my little ones and they thought it was so cool which put a major smile on my face. There has been much attention drawn to Iron Man as of late because of the publicity and 50-million dollar marketing power behind Jon Favreau’s Iron Man movie coming out in May. This latest video released from Marvel Kids is Part 2 and is part of the Iron Man Code Breaker Contest you can acces on the new Marvel Kids website.
This is so much better than the original International Iron Man movie trailer that was released over a month ago. There are even a couple of extra shots that weren’t in the original. It’s nice to see the 50 million dollar Iron Man movie marketing budget at work.
According to an article just released today by /FILM Ironman Movie’s Jon Favreau’s next project will be Neanderthals and NOT Avengers. This flies in the face of Marvel Fans everywhere who were full of optimism he was soon to be in the directors chair of the Avengers movie. All of this enthusiasm was based on a recent MTV interview in which Jon Favreau had expressed interest in a role in the Avengers movie. Say it isn’t so, Jon Favreau!
This photo is hot off the press for January 9th. The photo from the Iron Man movie coming out in May of ‘08 shows Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr. testing out the gauntlet mechanism for his Iron Man power armor. Was Robert Downey Jr. born to play Tony Stark or what?
Truth be known all I want to do is see the Iron Man movie coming out in May with a real budget and a real director. God bless you Favreau and all your ability, talented actors and actresses, top-of-the-line equipment and big budget!
It was announced yesterday that LG is in partnership with the powers-that-be for the new release of the Iron Man movie in May. As part of that promotion a model of the armor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) wears as he fights to escape terrorists after his capture was revealed at the CES show (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are some great photos here. Jon Favreau even makes an appearance.
Hey parents check out the new animated short of Spider-Man and Iron Man. If your kids look up at you and say, “Mom and Dad. Who’s stronger? Iron Man or Spider-Man?” Just show them this video. Great animation. It’s great that Marvel is aggressively gearing up and making Ironman visible for a big Iron Man movie debut in May.
WOW is this a hint for Iron Man movie fans or what? Maybe I’m reading a little too much in between the lines but consider what Terrence Howard says balanced with what he doesn’t say and you have your answer. You just may reach the same conclusion as I do.
According to Superheroflix.com when asked of Terrence Howard, “Will we get to see War Machine in Iron Man?” Terrence answered the following:
“You read the comic book? If you read the comic book then you kind of know what happens. But you still have to wait because you all ain’t taking away my next two movies!”
Well, because we all know that Rhodes (Terrence Howard) becomes War Machine in the comic I look for Rhodes to come out as War Machine either in a joint effort with Iron Man in the climax of the film or at the very least bring Howard out at the end of the movie somehow in full War Machine armor to drive us all crazy for Iron Man II.
